I don't get mad, I get on amazon.com and order another remote. 10 of 11 people found the following review helpful  product fine but doesn't do everything the RC65RX does, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: DirecTV RC65 4-Device Universal IR Remote (Electronics) just upgraded to HR25 HD DVR which came with RC65RX remote. i wanted sapre units so asked installer if i needed the "RX" version remote. he said only if i wanted the radio-frequency control mode (instead of just the IR method).thinking i didn't need any fancy interface, i ordered two of the standard RC65. they came fast and as described from Westronics thru amazon. i then tried to get it to control my sound system (Yamaha YSP-3050) using all 23 codes that DirecTV offered. all i could get it to do was turn the Yamaha on/off, but not control things like the volume. figured i just had the wrong codes, so i called DirecTV and they walked me thru yet another way of finding the right code via an auto-find process. still no luck. after additional questioning i discovered that the "X" in the name has to do with the way the remote interfaces with other brand systems. the "X" part allows it to both send and receive information. it seems my Yamaha... They were the same remotes that originally came with my directtv box. I have ordered them twice already due to the fact of having two puppy Boxers who think they look like their chew toys. |
