It is designed to sound like you're switching channels and my son is very amused by the voice that predicts the weather--always optimistic: "It's going to be bright and sunny today!" By 11 months he would hit that button and then look out the window at the sky. I think this is an educational toy. However, they do not disclose in advance that the unit contains "non-replaceable" batteries - the case is sealed shut. So if you want a unit with batteries you can't replace them once they die, and for those of us who want to remove the batteries, we can't. Nice. As for the battery not being replacable, I do not see that as a big concern since it is not a very expensive toy and has already lasted us a few months. By the time it quits I am sure my son will be over it anyhow. But for now we are enjoying it. It is also a positive that it has endured some slobber without shorting out. |
