4.0 out of 5 stars It's a fav. at our house, February 27, 2010
This review is from: Sassy Real Life Remote Developmental Toy (Baby Product)
As mentioned in a previous review, this remote can make some annoying noises but it is less offensive and fortunately much quieter than many other battery operated toys. It is designed to sound like you're switching channels and my son is very amused by the voice that predicts the weather--always optimistic: "It's going to be bright and sunny today!" By 11 months he would hit that button and then look out the window at the sky. I think this is an educational toy. Plus, at just 6 months old, he adored the ever-changing black and white hologram which he played with silently...those were the days!

I bought this remote because it had a visual component (not just buttons/lights) with the plan of removing the batteries. However, they do not disclose in advance that the unit contains "non-replaceable" batteries - the case is sealed shut. So if you want a unit with batteries you can't replace them once they die, and for those of us who want to remove the batteries, we can't. Nice. I'll be returning it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's going to be bright and sunny today!, November 27, 2010

Well although the weather prediction it gives has not been accurate the last few days, this remote is really fun. :)It is light weight and makes some cute noises. As for the battery not being replacable, I do not see that as a big concern since it is not a very expensive toy and has already lasted us a few months. By the time it quits I am sure my son will be over it anyhow. But for now we are enjoying it. It is also a positive that it has endured some slobber without shorting out.
